What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Return Preparation: Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of client financial information.
• Audit Engagement Support: Participate in the planning and preparation of audit engagements, execute audit procedures including testing controls and substantive testing, and document findings clearly.
• Financial Analysis & Research: Conduct tax research to interpret laws, analyze financial statements to identify issues or opportunities, and assess accounting principles to provide recommendations.
• Internal Control Evaluation: Evaluate internal control systems and processes to identify weaknesses, assist in developing recommendations for enhancing controls and operational efficiency.
• Client & Team Collaboration: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, explain tax concepts, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of engagements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, or a Master’s degree in accounting or taxation.
• Experience: Actively pursuing the required education and credits to qualify for the CPA exam, with the intention of obtaining CPA licensure.
• Skills: Tax return preparation, audit procedure execution, financial statement analysis, tax research, internal control evaluation.
• Bonus: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, actively working towards achieving CPA licensure or relevant certification if not already attained, and commitment to maintaining required CPE credits annually.
