Reinsurance Summer Internship – Short Hills, NJ (Hybrid) | Selective Insurance

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Selective Insurance, located in Short Hills, NJ (Hybrid). What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support the Reinsurance and Reinsurance Accounting teams in identifying, evaluating, and reporting on legacy treaty commutations.
• Organize: Assist in reorganizing, documenting, and mapping the internal shared drive structure.
• Collaborate: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Communicate: Communicate facts, analyses, and recommendations effectively through both written and verbal communications.
• Assist: Assist with any ad-hoc projects as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current college student pursuing a degree in accounting, with a High School Diploma required. Ideal candidates are full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors.
• Experience: Ability to perform at a professional level.
• Skills: Demonstrated interest in learning about the insurance industry; strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving departmental and organizational goals; effective written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Class of 2028 preferred; experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.
