Enterprise Assurance Services Intern – Summer 2027 | Grant Thornton (US)

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Grant Thornton, located in Bellevue, WA (hybrid). Grant Thornton is a multinational professional services organization with over 12,000 professionals, delivering audit, assurance, tax, and advisory services across the U.S. and Ireland. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Hybrid – Bellevue, WA
• Pay: $40 hourly
• Team: Professionals across IT Audit, SOC and attestation services, sustainability and ESG reporting, and Employee Benefit Plan audits.
• Mission: Support organizations in strengthening governance, risk management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder reporting through business process analysis, technology risk assessment, controls testing, and assurance services.
• Tech Stack: Data analytics tools, AI-enabled technologies

What You’ll Actually Do
• Plan Engagements: Assist in structuring client engagements by understanding objectives, processes, risks, and control environments.
• Evaluate Controls: Assess and test business process, information technology, and automated controls to determine risk and support assurance goals.
• Support Audits and Attestations: Aid in IT audit, SOC reporting, sustainability reporting, and employee benefit plan audit engagements from start to finish.
• Identify Risks: Apply established methodologies to pinpoint control deficiencies, reporting risks, and areas for improvement.
• Support Conclusions: Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to validate engagement conclusions and recommendations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Finance, or a related field; Entry-Level.
• Experience: Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0; interest in data analytics, data visualization, and data-driven decision making; familiarity with AI-enabled tools and a desire to use these capabilities to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities; effective verbal and written communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences; strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Bonus: CPA eligibility preferred for specific roles; interest in pursuing professional certifications like CPA, CISA, or CIA; ability to work additional hours and travel as needed; authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
