Each summer, highly motivated college students are selected to participate in our 10-to-12-week summer internship program. Our internship provides a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact by learning from senior leaders, collaborating with colleagues, and developing skills through individual projects that use your unique strengths. We also provide robust training and development throughout the internship—all crafted to help accelerate your knowledge base while assisting you in acquiring new skills.

Engineering Internship Locations & Relocation
Our engineering internships will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Salt Lake City, Utah or at one of our field locations.
A $2,500 housing stipend will be provided; additional relocation will also be given for those moving more than 50 miles from their home and school address.
Basic Qualifications
- Required: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical, civil, electrical, energy, mechanical, or petroleum engineering with a graduation date of December 2026 or beyond
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship, OPT or CPT
- Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Willingness and ability to relocate for the summer to our engineering internship locations
What You’ll Do
- Develops understanding of Williams core business and operating areas
- Gathers and analyzes real-time data to identify efficiencies and ensures proper asset maintenance
- Builds credibility with customers by contributing to major projects and capital expansions
- Collaborates with various teams across operating areas and fields to achieve enterprise goals
- Follows and supports Williams Core Values
- Work schedule is generally Monday-Friday 40 hours/week; hybrid schedule may be available
- Assists technical services and operations in engineering, compression, measurement, controls, pipeline integrity, land and environmental related work. This would include studies, evaluations, research and design, and eventually leading small projects in the above-mentioned areas.

Day in the Life of an Engineering Intern
Our interns perform real work, bring fresh, new insights and a creative flare, all which have a huge impact on their team and our company. We offer various options for you to learn different aspects of our business and our leaders love mentoring, coaching and teaching you, and watching you achieve greatness! Some of the work you may be doing includes:
- Working with project team to transition several enterprise resource planning projects from design to construction
- Participating in design reviews and constructability reviews
- Supporting database development, reports/dashboards, and automating business processes
- Supporting decision making documentation, operating procedures and operational improvement and safety efforts
Pay & Benefits
Pay is a nonnegotiable, hourly rate that is determined by graduation date:
- Fall 2026 and Spring 2027: Petroleum Engineering = $51.06/hour, all other majors = $41.54/hour
- Summer 2027, Fall 2027, and Spring 2028: Petroleum Engineering = $45.38/hour, all other majors = $36.92/hour
- Summer 2028 and beyond: Petroleum Engineering = $39.71/hour, other majors = $32.31/hour
