Technical Advancement Group Intern – MEP | CRB

The Tone:
This is an internship at CRB, a company with nearly 1,400 expert professionals specializing in life sciences and food and beverage industries. CRB designs and builds pioneering solutions for critical global issues such as health and food scarcity. This role supports firmwide innovation and technical excellence by directly contributing to the development of tools, standards, and workflows used across CRB projects.

The TL;DR

• Team: Works within the Technical Advancement Group (TAG) alongside engineers and technical leaders.
• Mission: Supports firmwide innovation and technical excellence by developing tools, standards, and workflows related to MEP systems, energy performance, and building modeling for CRB project teams.
• Tech Stack: Revit, BIM tools, Revit MEP

What You’ll Actually Do
• Modeling Support: Assist project teams and internal initiatives with energy modeling and building load analysis.
• Data Management: Support load classification and data organization within Revit models, specifically for MEP systems.
• Tool Development: Help develop, maintain, and improve Revit-based tools, templates, and workflows related to energy and load modeling.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineers to ensure accurate and consistent model data.
• Quality & Research: Participate in quality checks, documentation, technical reviews, and contribute to internal research and benchmarking under TAG leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering (MEP focus preferred).
• Experience: Interest in MEP systems, building performance, and energy modeling, with familiarity in Revit or other BIM tools through coursework or internships.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Bonus: Coursework or experience related to energy modeling, building performance analysis, HVAC, electrical, or integrated building systems, alongside exposure to Revit MEP, load calculations, or data-driven modeling.
