Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking an Engineering Intern for their 2026 summer program in Carson, California.

Program Overview

We are looking for highly motivated and energetic students to join our 2026 summer intern program at Howmet Fastening Systems. This structured program offers:

  • Duration: 10-12 weeks, beginning in May or June 2026.
  • Location: Onsite in Carson, CA.
  • Training & Activities:
    • Hands-on training.
    • Plant tours.
    • Seminars.
    • Networking events.
  • Projects: Interns will be assigned projects specifically selected to add direct value to the business.
  • Presentation: At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their project outcomes to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors.
  • Career Opportunity: An internship at Howmet Fastening Systems provides invaluable experience. It is Howmet Aerospace’s goal to evaluate interns for potential entry-level openings post-graduation.

Reporting Structure

This position will report directly to the site Engineering Manager, with daily coaching provided by team leaders, engineers, and/or technicians. The Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program is designed to include engaging in impactful projects that benefit both the company and the student’s professional development.

Key Project Involvement (R&D)

  • Set up and operation of Ergotech comp pilot manufacturing.

Additional Requirements

  • Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2026.
  • Able to provide own transportation for the position at Carson, CA.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree program in an engineering discipline by the start of employment.
  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.). Must be proficient working in a Microsoft systems environment, with Excel proficiency being required.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Internship work experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.

Salary

The salary for this position is $25 per hour.
