Job Description: Engineering Intern
LSB Industries, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern with an anticipated start date of January 2026 and an end date of July 2026.
This position offers a unique opportunity for students to gain critical project management skills not typically covered in academic settings, preparing them exceptionally well for entry into the workforce.
Location and Schedule:
• The position can be located at the OKC corporate office.
• Alternatively, it could be located at a manufacturing facility, working under the guidance of an Engineering Manager (proctor).
• Some travel may be required.
• The internship can be structured for one year or one semester at a time, potentially alternating with another student.
Responsibilities/Assignments:
The intern will be involved in various assignments, including:
• Performing weekly updates and analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as set by management, specifically for Project Management and project updates.
• Developing Power BI dashboards, initially using spreadsheets and eventually converting data into a project management and capital portfolio software.
• Documenting processes, workflows, standards, and training materials into a Corporate manual, collaborating with an external trainer and the VP of Capital and Construction for support.
• Troubleshooting reporting errors and working with site project managers to verify the accuracy of data related to safety, cost, and schedules across LSB’s capital portfolio.
Preferred Skills (Highly Valued):
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Projects, SharePoint, and Power BI, with an emphasis on linking these applications together.
• Coding and programming skills in languages such as Visual Basic, Python, Java, C, Power BI, and SharePoint Power Apps.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this internship, students must meet the following criteria:
• Be in good academic standing as a sophomore or greater.
• Be majoring in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel, Projects, and Power BI, and the ability to link them together is preferred.
• Programming skills in Visual Basic, Python, Java, C, and Power BI are preferred.
