Job Description:

The Engineering CO-OP is a paid, temporary assignment designed for students to gain practical experience in various engineering functions. The CO-OP student may be involved in:

Product Research: Assisting with studies and investigations related to new or existing products.
Production Engineering: Supporting manufacturing processes and equipment.
Development Engineering: Contributing to the creation of new devices or technologies.

Responsibilities may include:

Equipment Application: Working with and optimizing the use of equipment.
Device Development: Assisting in the design and development of new medical devices or components.
Manufacturing Support: Providing support to manufacturing operations, troubleshooting issues, and improving processes.
New Technology Support and Development/ Process Control: Supporting the implementation of new technologies and ensuring process control.
Process Validation: Helping to validate manufacturing processes to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
Product Development: Participating in the product development lifecycle, from concept to commercialization.
Quality Engineering: Ensuring product quality through testing, inspection, and process improvement.
Project Engineering: Assisting in project planning, execution, and management.
Systems Support: Providing support for engineering systems and software.
Research and Technical Writing: Conducting research and preparing technical documents.
Documentation: Producing engineering deliverables and documents.
Problem Solving: Providing analysis and recommendations for addressing obstacles during production.
Quality Management: Adhering to the Quality Management System to meet regulatory requirements (FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485).
Training: Completing all required training and seeking continuous development opportunities.
Collaboration: Working effectively with others throughout the organization.
Safety: Strictly adhering to safety requirements.
Attendance: Maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
Quality and Quantity: Maintaining company quality and quantity standards.
Communication: Possessing effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively or independently with minimal supervision.
Adaptability: Remaining calm and receptive in fast-paced situations.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in an Engineering program at an accredited College/University.
• Must provide proof of enrollment.

Physical Requirements:

• Works under general office environmental conditions.
• Requires sitting for extended periods and close visual acuity for computer and equipment use.
• May involve occasional lifting with minimal exertion.
• Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, lab coat, gloves) may be required in certain areas.
Data Analysis: Possesses experience in recording, analyzing data, and clearly communicating conclusions and recommendations in writing.
