Job Description (Engineering Co-op):

How You’ll Make an Impact:

Students will be matched to projects based on their abilities and current business needs. All projects will have significant strategic and/or operating importance to the business.

Project Responsibilities May Include:

• Partnering with leadership to identify and address areas to improve efficiency and benchmark with industry best practices.
• Becoming a process owner; critically reviewing specific processes with attention to detail and proactively recommending opportunities for improvement.
• Using highly specialized equipment and instrumentation accurately and with limited supervision.
• Developing tools and models to improve tracking and efficiency.
• Learning continuous improvement methodologies (i.e., PPI, Six Sigma, and others) and helping promote improvement initiatives.
• Working collaboratively with other functions including program management, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and finance to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate student completing an Engineering-related degree.
• 0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.
• Consistent track record of results demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.
• Energized through championing change, driven in getting results, and savvy in navigating ambiguity.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship (current or future) for employment visa status. Thermo Fisher does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, and CPT Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience.

Compensation & Relocation:

• Our undergraduate Engineering co-ops offer an hourly rate between $21.50 – $28.75 dependent upon the location you are supporting (aligned to respective cost-of-living guidelines).
• A relocation stipend of $5,000 is offered if necessary. Students must be located 50+ miles away from the physical location of the co-op to be eligible.

Additional Compensation Details (Intern II in New York):

• hourly pay range: $21.00–$25.00
• Potential for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance.
