The role is for an Embark Scholar Intern; Technology within KPMG’s Embark Scholars program.

Responsibilities:
The Embark Scholar Intern will be involved in a dynamic learning experience designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of professional services:
• Rotational Learning: Interns will rotate through KPMG’s audit, tax, and advisory businesses to gain insights into client service and career paths within professional services.
• Diverse Assignments: Provide support across various practices, including working as part of engagement teams.
• Audit & Data Analytics Support: Assist with the use of audit methodology and Data and Analytics (D&A).
• Tax & Advisory Tasks: Support tax and advisory-related tasks, including data extractions and data analysis.
• Engagement Team Assistance: Help engagement teams with tasks such as creating work paper files, preparing client reports and deliverables, and organizing business development activities.
• Scope & Analysis: Assist in identifying the scope of engagement capabilities, reviewing client materials, providing insights, and proposing how analysis can be leveraged.
• Technology & Tools: Leverage a range of technologies and analytics tools.
• Financial Integrity: Contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial information.
Qualifications:
• Enrollment Status: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college.
• Degree/Major: Pursuing or intending to pursue a Bachelor or Master of Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or other related degree.
• First-Generation/Community College: Applicants must be first-generation college students OR community college students who intend to obtain their bachelor’s degree in the specified disciplines.
• Coursework Completed: Must have completed at least 1 semester (or equivalent for quarter schools) of coursework at the time of application.
• Future Coursework: Upon completion of the internship, candidates must have at least 3 additional semesters (or equivalent for quarter schools) to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• GPA: A preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.
• Inclusion Commitment: Must demonstrate or convey a commitment to creating a culture that strives for inclusion and embraces, respects, and values differences among all people (e.g., through high school/university experiences, student organization involvement/leadership).
• Prior Program Participation (Preferred): Prior participation in KPMG leadership programs (such as Rise, Talent +) and/or another organization’s leadership programs is preferred.
• Skills: Possess excellent communication, task, time management, and leadership skills. Must be a flexible and adaptable team player, and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Location & Travel: Must reside within a commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to work locations using their own means of transportation (personal vehicle or public transportation). Work location may be in the office or at client sites, with some potentially requiring travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office).
• Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older by June 1, 2026.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Compensation and Benefits:
• California Salary Range: $63,000 – $75,000.

• Available benefits are based on eligibility.
• The offered salary is determined by relevant factors such as the applicant’s skills, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and market considerations.
• KPMG provides Personal Time Off (PTO) per fiscal year based on job classification, standard work hours, and years of service.
• Eligible employees receive two breaks each year without using PTO: one at year-end and one around the July 4th holiday.
