Job Description: Embark Scholar Intern

This internship is part of KPMG’s Embark Scholars Program. The program offers a rotational experience across the firm’s audit, tax, and advisory service lines. The goal is to provide interns with a comprehensive understanding of professional services and the various career paths available.

Responsibilities:

Rotational Experience: Interns will rotate through audit, tax, and advisory departments, gaining exposure to the full range of services offered.
Diverse Assignments: The role encompasses a wide variety of tasks, including supporting engagement teams in using audit methodologies, data analytics (D&A), and tax and advisory-related projects. This involves data extraction, analysis, and interpretation.
Team Collaboration: Interns will work collaboratively with engagement teams to create work papers, prepare client reports and deliverables, and assist in business development activities.
Analytical Skills Application: Interns will help determine the scope of engagement capabilities, review client materials, identify insights, and propose how analysis can be leveraged for effective execution.
Technology Utilization: The role requires leveraging a range of technologies and analytics tools.
Financial Information Integrity: Interns will contribute to maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial information.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Taxation, or a related field.
CPA Intent: Intent to pursue a CPA license is preferred for accounting majors.
Coursework Completion: Must have completed at least one semester (or equivalent) of coursework at the time of application.
Remaining Semesters: Upon completing the internship, candidates must have at least three additional semesters (or equivalent) remaining before graduation and/or CPA eligibility.
GPA: A preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.

Leadership Experience: Prior participation in leadership programs (e.g., KPMG’s Rise, Talent+, etc.) is a plus.

Location: Must reside within commuting distance of the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal transportation. Work may occur at client sites, potentially requiring travel and overnight stays.
Age & Authorization: Must be 18 or older by June 1, 2025, and authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
