What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Deliver personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions, both scheduled and on-demand, to elementary school math students.
• Teach Core Concepts: Explain fundamental math concepts such as number sense, place value, arithmetic operations, basic fractions and decimals, measurement, time, money, and introductory data interpretation.
• Break Down Complexities: Facilitate understanding of complex topics like multi-digit operations and word problems by employing hands-on manipulatives, visual models, and discovery-based learning methods.
• Adapt Instruction: Guide students through essential skills like counting strategies and fact fluency, adapting teaching approaches and resources to address individual learning needs and common student challenges.
• Utilize Platform: Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional assistance, lesson generation, and engagement features to enhance tutoring sessions and reduce prep time.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrated advanced mastery of core elementary math concepts, specifically including number sense, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, basic fractions and decimals, measurement, time, money, geometry shapes, patterns, and introductory data interpretation.
• Experience: Proven ability to effectively teach and break down complex concepts like multi-digit operations, fraction concepts, and word problems, utilizing hands-on manipulatives, drawings, and visual models. This includes proficiency in guiding students through skip counting, place value understanding, basic geometric reasoning, and measurement conversions.
• Skills: Strong communication skills coupled with a friendly and engaging teaching style, adept at identifying common student struggles and explaining material using multiple approaches to adapt instruction to individual learning needs and styles.
• Skills: Familiarity with elementary math standards for grades one through five, along with an understanding of common challenges students face, such as regrouping in subtraction, understanding fractions as parts of a whole, and memorizing multiplication facts.
