What We Look For In an Elementary School Math Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery:

• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction:
  • Familiar with elementary math standards for grades one through five.
  • Awareness of common challenges students face, such as regrouping in subtraction, understanding fractions as parts of a whole, and memorizing multiplication facts.
  • Ability to adapt instruction using tools like base-ten blocks, fraction strips, games, and multi-sensory approaches to support young learners at varying developmental readiness levels.
• Effective Teaching Methods:
  • Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with and explain material using multiple approaches.
  • Proven ability to adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style are essential.
