Elementary Special Education Manager (Bilingual Spanish) | YES Prep Public Schools

The Tone:
This is an 11-month role at YES Prep Public Schools, located in Houston, TX. The manager will be a cross-functional leader directly contributing to student success and the organization’s mission.

• Type: 11-month
• Location: In-person, Houston, TX
• Pay: $70500 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Principal and manages at least two Special Education teachers, Special Education Teaching Assistants, and a Compliance Specialist.
• Mission: This person ensures high-quality special education services and compliance, creating pathways to opportunity for students with disabilities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Student Achievement: Set and monitor Special Education objectives and key results in alignment with campus strategic priorities, tracking progress toward increased student achievement outcomes.
• Team Leadership: Manage, evaluate, and develop Special Education teachers and support staff, providing individual and group coaching on instructional strategies and data-driven decision-making.
• Compliance Oversight: Ensure the campus meets all Special Education compliance requirements, including accurate IEP development, timely paperwork completion, and adherence to state and federal regulations.
• Instructional Development: Design and deliver professional learning opportunities for campus staff on topics relevant to Special Education, such as differentiation, specially designed instruction, and inclusive practices.
• Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with the campus leadership team and general education staff to ensure rigorous, accessible learning for all students, including those in Special Education.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, with experience in elementary special education management.
• Experience: At least 3 years of teaching experience in Special Education.
• Skills: Fluent in Spanish; holds a standard Texas teaching certification in Special Education and will obtain a Texas Bilingual certification within the first school year of employment; demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and manage multiple tasks; maintains emotional control under stress.
• Bonus: At least 4 or more years of teaching experience in Special Education.
