Job Description: Electricity Strategist Intern (Energy Research Team)

The Electricity Strategist Intern position is within Susquehanna’s Energy Research team, specifically focusing on energy and power trading. This role is informed by a strong fundamental understanding of weather prediction, as well as supply and demand characteristics within the energy market.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with senior strategists and traders.
• Identify information and datasets to improve Susquehanna’s modeling.
• Enhance Susquehanna’s understanding of the United States power grid.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Educational Background: Intention to graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree within one year of the internship program in Electrical Engineering or a similar major.
• Problem-Solving & Curiosity: Creative problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity about electricity markets and fundamentals.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to complete data entry and mapping tasks.
• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of technologies relevant to the technical domain, including but not limited to:
• Python
• Pandas
• MySQL
• Work Ethic & Communication: Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, an effective communicator, and resourceful in solving problems.
• Visa Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position now or in the future.
