Electrical Engineering Intern | Westinghouse

The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to the Eagle Supervisor
• Mission: This role supports the engineering lifecycle for Eagle Instrumentation and Control (I&C) equipment, from drawing creation and technical documentation to integrating software and troubleshooting hardware, ensuring the robust operation of critical components for clean energy solutions.
• Tech Stack: ABI Test Set, schematic capture software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engineering Support: Create and update engineering drawings for Eagle Instrumentation and Control (I&C) equipment.
• Documentation: Compile technical documents and specifications vital for the procurement, testing, and manufacturing of Hardware I&C products.
• Hardware Integration: Collaborate with software engineers in a lab setting to integrate and test new software with updated hardware components.
• Troubleshooting: Assist technicians in the lab with the testing and troubleshooting of Eagle printed circuit boards.
• Procedure Development: Develop Test Flows and Troubleshooting procedures using the ABI Test Set for Eagle printed circuit boards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical or software engineering, having completed your sophomore year of college. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, demonstrating a strong academic foundation in your field. This role also requires a foundational knowledge of both analog and digital circuits, essential for understanding the core components you will work with.
• Experience: Direct experience with schematic capture software, which will be utilized for capturing schematics and creating netlists for CAD engineers. This practical experience is crucial for supporting the design and development processes of printed circuit boards.
• Skills: Proficiency in understanding and applying principles of analog circuits; demonstrated knowledge of digital circuits; practical ability to use schematic capture software effectively.
