This is a temporary position focused on performing basic duties related to the repair and maintenance of plant electrical and instrumentation equipment.

Essential Duties:
The incumbent will primarily assist experienced personnel with various tasks, emphasizing safety, logic, and efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Key responsibilities include:
Maintenance and Repair: Assisting with the upkeep and fixing of plant electrical and instrumentation equipment in a safe, logical, and efficient manner.
Troubleshooting and Installation/Repair/Maintenance Support: Providing assistance with basic troubleshooting and hands-on support for a range of critical systems and equipment, including:
Distributive Control System (DCS)
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Temperature and vibration monitoring equipment
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
General Instrumentation
Electrical systems, such as conduit, lighting, and enclosures.
Control Valves
Company Functions: Assisting with broader company events, such as “DGC Family Night.”
Other Duties: Performing additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
Age: Be at least 18 years of age.
Education: Be enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Technology program with at least two semesters completed, or be a recent graduate from such a program (within the past 12 months).
Academic Performance: Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Licensure: Possess a valid driver’s license.

Experience: Previous internship or relevant work experience.

Physical and Environmental Demands:
This role is physically demanding and involves varied environmental exposures:
Constant Activities: Requires constant walking, hand coordination, and standing.
Frequent/Occasional Activities: Involves occasional stooping/bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, hand grip of 45 pounds, lifting and carrying up to 55 pounds, reaching above and below shoulder level, sitting, lifting 50 pounds from knee to shoulder high, crawling, pushing and pulling up to 30 pounds, and the use of keyboard/computer and test equipment.
Tool Use: Requires continuous use of tools and occasional turning of valves and use of foot controls.
Outdoor Work: Over 45% of the incumbent’s shift is spent outdoors.
Environmental Exposure: This position is continuously exposed to noise; frequently exposed to dirt, dust, chemicals, extreme heat and cold; and occasionally exposed to vibration, poor ventilation and confined areas.
Safety Equipment: Will be required to wear dust masks, respirators and full face Scott Air Paks when necessary.
Working at Heights: Frequently requires working in high climbing areas on grating, ladders, scaffolding and other areas requiring use of safety equipment. This may involve work at heights from 10 to 150 feet, which requires the use of safety equipment, including a harness, in accordance with ANSI Z359 standards.
Sensory and Cognitive Demands: Requires good finger dexterity, good binocular vision, accurate color vision and the ability to speak. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must have the ability to analyze data and reports, implement recommendations and follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively with others and present information in a clear, concise manner.
