APTIM is offering an exciting EHS Business Systems Analyst Intern position within their Environmental Consulting & Sustainability (EC&S) business unit. This 12-week internship, part of the STRIVE Internship Program, provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of business analysis, data analytics, and digital solutions development and implementation within the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) domain.
Job Overview
As an EHS Business Systems Analyst Intern, you will play a crucial role in analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to the development and implementation of digital or automation solutions. The goal is to enhance project performance and delivery within the EC&S business unit. You will be immersed in a learning environment that blends technical skills with business acumen, focusing on optimizing EHS operations through innovative digital tools and strategies.
Internship Program Details
- Program Name: STRIVE Internship Program
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Dates: May 18, 2026 – August 7, 2026
- Mandatory Availability:
- Week 1: May 18 – 22, 2026
- Week 12: August 3 – 7, 2026 (includes company-paid travel to an APTIM office for an end-of-internship celebration)
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to effectively elicit and meticulously document requirements from business stakeholders concerning systems and data needs.
- Data Analysis: Utilizing various business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau to conduct in-depth analysis of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) data, uncovering trends and insights.
- Process Optimization: Engaging in research, innovation, and optimization of existing business processes by identifying current challenges and proposing viable project solutions.
- Solution Development Support: Developing detailed workflows and actively supporting the configuration of enterprise solutions to meet specific project requirements.
- Reporting & Visualization: Creating impactful dashboards, custom reports, and compelling data visualizations using various business intelligence tools to present complex data clearly.
- AI-Driven Analysis: Leveraging AI-driven data analysis tools to support and enhance decision-making processes.
- Presentation: Summarizing and effectively presenting project outcomes and key findings to relevant business teams.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program in a related field, such as Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, or similar.
- Completed coursework in Environmental Science or Occupational Health.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, including HTLM, .NET, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, SQL, JSON, Rest API, XML, Python, CSS, or others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Basic understanding of the EHS domain and familiarity with EHS software systems (e.g., Cority, Enablon, Intelex, Sphera, VelocityEHS, or other leading EHS platforms).
- Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Prior experience in web and mobile application development and testing.
- Foundational Knowledge of Data Modeling: Understanding how to structure relational databases for environmental reporting.
Additional Minimum Required Qualifications
- Ability to work shifts of at least 8 hours, and occasionally longer, 5 days per week.
- Ability to work effectively in an office environment and collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to receive and understand directions from supervision and management.
- A team player who is deadline-driven, works well with others, and is flexible in terms of work hours.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

Compensation
The estimated pay range for this intern position is $23.00 to $27.32 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined by factors such as experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
