Editorial Intern, Crypto | Andreessen Horowitz
The Tone:
This is a part-time, remote internship at Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm that backs bold entrepreneurs building the future through technology. Founded in Silicon Valley, a16z is stage agnostic, investing in companies across AI, bio + healthcare, consumer, crypto, enterprise, fintech, games, and American dynamism, with over $100B under management. The firm’s crypto division aims to foster innovation, accelerate progress, and grow the crypto ecosystem, focusing on productive uses of blockchains. This is a rare opportunity for a motivated student to gain a front-row seat at a “direct media” operation, a model pioneered by a16z, which produces influential podcasts, articles, newsletters, and videos. The intern will learn from established editors with backgrounds in both traditional media and in-house content marketing, contributing to content that helps founders and their companies impact the world.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Multimedia Production: Assist with the production of editorial content, focusing on multimedia, by helping to create and produce short-form video clips for YouTube and social media, including identifying, time-stamping, editing clips, creating YouTube thumbnails, and writing social copy.
• Clipping Strategy: Expand the firm’s clipping operation, including strategically defining and refining its overall approach and strategy.
• Podcast Content Management: Produce, overhaul, and update podcast shownotes; clean up, segment by topic, and help time-stamp transcripts; and perform occasional research and preparation for podcast episodes.
• Content Editing and Repurposing: Edit existing content, which may involve transforming partner interview transcripts into blog posts, repackaging full posts, helping write new posts, and updating past content archives for site metadata and other maintenance tasks.
• Special Project Support: Help produce special series and projects, ranging from data reports to op-eds to other comprehensive media packages, and assist with basic editorial design as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A motivated student with a strong interest in technology, science, computer science, or specific passion projects, demonstrating the ability to go deep into subjects.
• Experience: Past experience in media outlets, conducting publishing experiments, or building social media profiles, with a portfolio of samples showcasing writing, production, or assistance.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational and analytical abilities, capacity to multitask and meet deadlines with attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-first approach.
• Bonus: Some familiarity with crypto, previous experience in a media environment, or technical experience with various multimedia editing tools.
