The Tone:
This is an internship at PCMag, located in New York City with remote consideration. PCMag is a venerable technology publication that has been the leading authority on technology for over four decades, delivering thousands of lab-based, independent reviews. This role is crucial for helping to deliver industry-leading tech buying advice, news, and service journalism, while providing hands-on experience in a digital media environment. Interns will contribute to a team dedicated to excellence, independence, and trust, ensuring high-quality journalism.

The TL;DR

• Type: Part-time (20-29 hours per week)

• Pay: $25 hourly
• Team: News, Features, and Reviews teams
• Mission: Help deliver industry-leading tech buying advice, news, and service journalism to make better buying decisions and get more from technology.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Testing: Assist with product testing and draft initial reviews under editorial guidance.
• Writing: Create compelling news stories, in-depth articles, and practical how-to guides on the latest tech products and services.
• Editing: Participate in the editing process, assisting with proofreading and formatting stories for publication.
• Projects: Work on various editorial projects as needed to support the overall content strategy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career individuals with a foundational knowledge of the industry, a strong interest in computer technology, and a recommended writing/reporting focus from school.
• Experience: Demonstrable writing and/or editing experience beyond classwork.
• Skills: Exceptional communication skills; a strong affinity for technology; a willingness to learn; self-motivation and adaptability to contribute where needed.
• Bonus: Published writing samples are a significant advantage; local candidates in New York City are preferred.
