Editorial Internship – Summer 2026
Milwaukee Magazine has Editorial Internship positions available for SUMMER 2026!
Role Overview
We are seeking journalists who are committed to accuracy and detail, combined with a knack for telling Milwaukee’s stories to our extensive readership of over 200,000. This is a professional role where interns will be integral to the editorial process.
Key Responsibilities
- Extensive fact-checking to ensure accuracy of content.
- Writing for both print editions and the milwaukeemag.com website.
- Involvement in larger research projects.
- Participation in brainstorming sessions to help shape the magazine’s editorial direction.
- No coffee runs for others – this is a professional role.
Career Development
Milwaukee Magazine takes pride in the success of its former interns, many of whom have honed and expanded their skills here before moving on to full-time positions at newspapers, magazines, or other communication jobs. Many have returned to the offices for full-time roles or become regular freelance contributors.
Application Process

Qualifications
- Interns will work 15-20 hours a week.
- The internship is currently a hybrid schedule.
- Experience working in a journalistic environment, whether professional or student publication, is required.
- Ability to verify facts and not assume their correctness is crucial.
- Proficiency in AP Style is expected.
- Familiarity with Milwaukee Magazine is highly recommended.
Important Requirement
This is a part-time unpaid position that carries a college credit requirement. Applicants MUST be able to receive college course credit for the internship.
