The Tone:
This is an early career role at Trexquant Investment, located in Stamford or New York City. Trexquant is a rapidly expanding systematic fund at the forefront of quantitative finance, focused on building the next generation of its research and trading platform. This role is crucial for developing the essential infrastructure that powers systematic trading, including vital components such as data pipelines, backtesting tools, and execution systems. You will contribute to greenfield development projects, helping to build new systems from the ground up and driving innovation and scalability within the firm’s technology stack.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Systems: Engage in the full lifecycle development of low-latency, high-throughput research and trading systems utilizing C++, C, Java, or Rust.
• Optimize Data: Build and optimize data processing pipelines to ensure reliable access to large, high-quality datasets for the firm.
• Build Tools: Assist in developing specialized tools for backtesting, model training, and strategy evaluation.
• Collaborate Solutions: Collaborate directly with researchers and traders to deliver technical solutions that enhance research productivity and trading performance.
• Uphold Quality: Participate actively in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high-quality standards across all systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, possessing strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience: Proficiency in one or more programming languages from C++, C, Python, Java, or Rust, along with familiarity with Linux environments.
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the demonstrated ability to learn quickly in a collaborative team setting.
