Category Manager Intern (TikTok Shop – Operations) | TikTok

The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at TikTok, located in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is a leading global short-form mobile video platform, dedicated to inspiring creativity and bringing joy to its users. This role supports the TikTok Shop US operation team, which is building an innovative e-commerce ecosystem in the US. The intern will play a key part in scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon and pioneering content and creator commerce, making TikTok a leading platform for brands, creators, and shoppers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Merchant Acquisition: Acquire and incubate new merchants to support overall category growth within TikTok Shop.
• Resource Investment: Discover collaborative models that align with merchant development plans and invest platform resources efficiently.
• Business Problem Solving: Solve key challenges in business growth by collaborating closely with various cross-functional teams.
• Client Consultation: Employ a consultative approach, offering strategic content, creator/affiliate/agency partner, merchandising, and logistical solutions to all clients.
• Client Communication: Update clients on new TikTok Shop product developments and available promotional opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in any field.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• Skills: Quick learner, proactive, resilient, structured thinker with a good data sense and strong analytical capabilities. Possesses excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills, and is adept at moving initiatives forward.
• Bonus: Prior internship or full-time experience in an e-commerce marketplace business or retail category management. Familiarity with the TikTok content ecosystem, shoppable content, and brand-creator partnerships.
