Category Manager Intern (TikTok Shop – Operations) | TikTok
The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, located in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is the leading global destination for short-form mobile video, inspiring creativity and bringing joy to over a billion users. This role within the TikTok Shop US operation team is critical for building an innovative e-commerce ecosystem, scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon, and pioneering Content & Creator commerce in the US. The team aims to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice for merchants, creators, and affiliates.

• Mission: To acquire and incubate merchants, discover innovative collaborative models, and solve key challenges in business growth for the TikTok e-commerce business in the US.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquisition: Acquire and incubate merchants to support category growth within TikTok Shop.
• Collaboration: Discover innovative collaborative models that align with merchants’ development plans and invest platform resources effectively.
• Problem Solving: Solve key challenges in business growth through strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Consultation: Employ a consultative approach by offering strategic content, creator/affiliate/agency partner, merchandising, and logistical solutions to clients.
• Communication: Update clients on TikTok Shop product developments and new promotional opportunities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an MBA Degree; Student.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• Skills: Quick learner, proactive, resilient, structured thinking, strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and skilled at cross-team collaboration.
• Bonus: Internship or full-time experience in an e-commerce marketplace business or retail category management; familiarity with TikTok content ecosystem, shoppable content, and brand-creator partnerships.
