Job Description
• Position Title: District Press Intern
• Position Type: Internship
• Position Location: Eagan, Minnesota. Applicants must already be within a commutable distance or open to relocating without assistance.
• Description: The District Press Intern will work directly with the communications team and be involved in day-to-day communications operations, while also performing administrative tasks within the district office.
• Primary Responsibilities:
• Compiling daily afternoon news clips.
• Taking photos and filming video content at the Congresswoman’s district events.
• Assisting with drafting social media posts when the Congresswoman is in the district.
• Answering phones.
• Logging constituent voicemails and mail.
• Fielding casework requests.
• Performing other assignments as needed.
• Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with digital photography, social media, video editing, and graphic design is preferred, but not required.
• Availability Requirements: Applicants must indicate their weekly availability from September 1st through December 30th. Applicants with 20-25 hours/week of availability, spread across the work week, are preferred.
• Salary: $15/hourly.

• Employment Eligibility (General for U.S. House of Representatives Paid Positions):
• Applicants must meet one of the following residency requirements within the continental United States:
• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Be lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)(B).
• Be (i) admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157 or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1158 and (ii) have filed a declaration of intention to become a lawful permanent resident and then a citizen when eligible.
• Owe allegiance to the U.S. (i.e., qualify as a non-citizen U.S. national under federal law).
• All travel-related expenses associated with the interview and hiring process, including any relocation expenses, must be paid by the applicant.
• Employment may be contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a criminal history records check.
• Employment with the U.S. House of Representatives is at-will.
