What You’ll Actually Do
• Regional Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive regional business plans that align with company objectives and customer priorities, driving distribution, share, and profitability across all assigned accounts.
• Retailer Relationships: Serve as the senior point of contact for major accounts and distributors, building trust-based partnerships with senior buyers and category managers to unlock growth opportunities and secure incremental programs.
• Team Leadership: Directly lead 3 Account Executives, providing coaching, setting clear performance expectations, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• P&L Management: Take full responsibility for customer-level P&Ls, ensuring profitability while driving top-line growth, monitoring trade spend, promotional ROI, and margin performance to optimize investments.
• Category Expertise: Partner with Category & Insights to become a subject matter expert for the in-store bakery category, leveraging syndicated data, retailer POS, and shopper insights to craft compelling, data-driven sell stories.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree required; 10+ years of progressive sales experience in CPG, preferably in food and grocery retail.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience leading sales teams. Proven success managing regional or national accounts across major retailers and distributors.
• Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and storytelling skills. Strong analytical skills with experience using syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen) and retailer POS systems. Expertise in broker management, trade spend optimization, and promotional ROI analysis.
• Bonus: Advanced Excel and familiarity with CRM and data visualization tools are a plus.
