The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Neurocrine Biosciences, located in San Diego, CA. This role is pivotal in providing strategic leadership and building capabilities for the company’s treasury and insurance function, supporting critical capital markets, financing, and capital allocation initiatives as the company continues its growth.

• Mission: Owns the strategic leadership, capability building, and oversight for the company’s treasury and insurance function.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy & Capability Building: Develop and execute the company’s treasury strategy, operating plan, policies, and multi-year capability roadmap aligned with company priorities.
• Liquidity & Investments: Lead enterprise cash forecasting, daily liquidity management, short- and long-term liquidity planning, and the company’s investment portfolio strategy and execution.
• Financial Relationships: Manage strategic relationships with commercial banks, revolving credit facility lenders, investment managers, custodians, insurance brokers, and carriers.
• Risk & Capital Allocation: Develop and enhance the company’s financial risk management framework, evaluating and recommending risk mitigation strategies and supporting capital allocation decisions.
• Global Operations & Technology: Oversee global treasury operations, develop intercompany funding and settlement processes, lead the treasury technology roadmap, and administer global property & casualty and directors & officers insurance programs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, serving in a Director-level capacity for strategic leadership in treasury and insurance.
• Experience: 12+ years of related experience in Treasury, capital markets, investments, corporate finance, and/or insurance, or 10+ years with an MBA/MS/MA. Experience leading Kyriba or another treasury management system is required.
• Skills: Deep technical knowledge across corporate treasury disciplines, advanced financial modeling and portfolio analytics, expertise with revolving credit facilities and capital markets transactions, and expertise in corporate insurance program design and placement. Working knowledge of hedge accounting, ASC 815, investment accounting, and fair value concepts is also necessary.
• Bonus: CTP, CFA, CPA, MBA, or MS Finance preferred. Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, geographic expansion, or other significant corporate transactions is a plus.
