• Mission: This person owns the direction and management of business and operational activities for the assigned pediatrics department, ensuring administrative coordination, policy adherence, and operational efficiency while meeting patient care standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administrative Leadership: Provide overall administrative direction and coordination for the formulation, interpretation, and administration of departmental policies, procedures, and programs.
• Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operational activities of the department, including creating production schedules, managing team workload, and identifying and resolving emerging issues.
• Strategic Planning & Improvement: Establish departmental goals and objectives consistent with institutional policies, define project scopes, and implement continuous process improvements and best practices.
• Human Resources Management: Interpret and administer policies concerning hiring, payroll, promotions, performance appraisal, and professional development for all faculty and staff.
• Financial Management: Plan and manage the annual departmental budget, collaborating with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure financial systems are in place and compliant with institutional policies.
• Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Implement and oversee quality assurance programs and monitoring activities to meet standards and regulations of accrediting agencies such such as JCAHO, CARF, and New York State/City Department of Health.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in health care finance or administration, operating at a Director level within a complex healthcare or academic medical system.
• Experience: 5-7 years minimum of experience in health care finance or administration, with demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and execution, policy formulation, building and developing financial plans, managing resources, and leading successful teams.
• Skills: Administrative direction, operational management, policy interpretation and administration, budget planning and monitoring, quality assurance program implementation, regulatory compliance, process improvement, and staff development.
• Bonus: Master’s degree preferred.
