Credit Portfolio Manager – Securitization, Director | Mizuho

The Tone:
This is a Director-level role at Mizuho, located in a hybrid working environment. Mizuho Financial Group is a major global bank offering comprehensive financial services across various regions. This position is crucial for managing enterprise credit risk, supporting sound credit risk decision-making, and proactively monitoring risk within Mizuho’s ABS and Securitization portfolio. The role ensures robust risk management practices for complex structured transactions.

The TL;DR
• Location: Hybrid
• Pay: $165000–$235000 yearly
• Team: Credit Portfolio Management team, reporting to the Head of Credit Portfolio Management
• Mission: Support the Head of Credit Portfolio Management with risk management of Mizuho’s ABS and Securitization portfolio.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA, Moodys, Intex, or similar portfolio risk platforms

What You’ll Actually Do
• Evaluate: Monitor the risk characteristics of a portfolio of Securitization funding facilities.
• Develop: Execute comprehensive ongoing monitoring plans on private ABS transactions utilizing financial analysis and capital structure cash flow modeling.
• Review: Interpret legal documentation to ensure accurate implementation of financial covenants, trigger events, priority of payments, and deal structure in risk modeling.
• Oversee: Direct risk model development, stress testing, and loss assumptions for the securitization portfolio.
• Generate: Create reports to highlight portfolio metrics for senior management and external regulators, and escalate credit concerns.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Economics. This Director-level candidate must demonstrate an understanding of asset origination, servicing, and ABS financing markets.
• Experience: 8+ years of related work experience in credit risk analysis of ABS products, significant experience with structured finance transactions, and comprehensive hands-on knowledge of securitization collateral analysis, deal modeling, and legal structures.
• Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, proactive and self-starting approach, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Bonus: Programming and transaction modeling skills using Excel and VBA, and prior experience with Structured Finance deal modeling solutions such as Moodys, Intex, or similar portfolio risk platforms.
