Director, Competitive Intelligence | Fiserv
The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Fiserv. Fiserv is a global leader in Fintech and payments, connecting financial institutions, corporations, merchants, and consumers millions of times daily. This role is crucial for developing actionable insights and informing decision-making by building financial models and delivering comprehensive market and competitor intelligence. The work directly supports business strategy, strengthens strategic planning, and aids in transaction support and investment analysis on a global scale.

• Mission: Support business strategy and decision-making through financial modeling, research, market intelligence, and competitor intelligence across multiple business segments.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Intelligence Delivery: Deliver research, market intelligence, and competitor intelligence to support business strategy development and key initiatives across Fiserv business segments.
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models on a universe of public company competitors and adjacencies, developing an independent view on expected future performance and trends.
• Recurring Deliverables: Develop recurring intelligence deliverables, including competitor profiles, market updates, industry analyses, and comparable public company analyses.
• Transaction Support: Support live transactions and business development activities by contributing research, business case development, discounted cash flow and accretion or dilution modeling, executive presentation materials, and due diligence preparation.
• Strategic Partnership: Partner with business unit finance, product, strategy, and business development teams to evaluate strategic targets, competitive positioning, and market trends.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, combined with 6+ years of experience in equity research, competitive intelligence, or corporate strategy.
• Experience: Building public company financial models, conducting market analysis, competitor research, strategic assessments, financial analysis using discounted cash flow modeling, accretion or dilution modeling, business case development, and comparable company analysis.
• Skills: Financial modeling, market analysis, competitor research, strategic assessment, executive presentation development, and utilizing external industry analysts and research firms.
• Bonus: Master of Business Administration in Finance or a related field, experience in payments, fintech, or financial technology markets, and experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, or venture investment activities.
