About the Job (Internship)

This role is an internship opportunity within Gale, a part of Cengage Group. The internship focuses on leveraging Gale’s digital humanities tools and archives to engage students and faculty and contribute to the company’s content and outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do Here):

Research Project: Conduct a significant research project utilizing the Gale Digital Scholar Lab, a digital humanities tool. This project will be submitted to the Gale Research Showcase, undergo a peer review process, and serve as an exemplary assignment to inspire future users.
Content Development: Create engaging content for Gale’s blog and social media channels. This content will highlight the rich and fascinating information available within Gale’s extensive archives.
Event Coordination: Plan and facilitate an on-campus event aimed at educating students and faculty about the valuable resources provided by Gale.
Skill Development & Networking: Participate in weekly virtual “lunch and learn” sessions. These sessions are designed to help interns acquire new skills relevant to their internship activities and offer valuable opportunities to network with professionals from various departments within Cengage Group.
Performance Feedback: Engage in virtual check-ins to receive formal feedback on performance and progress throughout the internship.

Required Skills and Qualifications (Skills You Will Need Here):

Academic Background: Must be currently majoring in an Arts & Humanities or Social Science subject area.
Personal Attributes: Possess strong creativity, demonstrated leadership qualities, effective time management skills, and a genuine passion for history and the humanities.
Gale Resources Experience: Prior experience using Gale resources is considered a plus, but it is explicitly not required, as comprehensive training will be provided to the intern.

Compensation:

The base pay range for this internship position is $15.00 – $16.00 USD. Individual pay will vary based on factors such as work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.
