Job Description: Development and Experimental Verification of a Simulink Control Model for an Ink Supply Subsystem
This 3-month internship offers a challenging opportunity to contribute to the advancement of print quality within a dynamic, multidisciplinary R&D environment at Canon Production Printing. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and experimentally verifying a MATLAB Simulink/Simscape model for the control system of an ink supply subsystem. This model will be critical for optimizing product and control parameters, and enhancing hardware selection.
The Internship’s Challenge and Objectives:
The core challenge involves creating a comprehensive and accurate Simulink/Simscape model that realistically represents the ink supply subsystem’s control system. This will require:
1. Creating a Simulink or Simscape model: Designing a detailed model of the control system within the Simulink/Simscape environment.
2. Model Verification: Validating the model’s accuracy by utilizing and potentially expanding upon an existing experimental setup.
3. Real-world Testing: Implementing and testing the model in a real-life environment to ensure its effectiveness and robustness.
4. Model Extension: Adapting and improving the model to support future product iterations and advancements.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Educational Background: A background in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics, with demonstrable experience in Systems and Control Engineering.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MATLAB or similar modeling tools, coupled with a solid understanding of flow dynamics.
• Personal Attributes: Independence, proactiveness, strong teamwork skills, and comfort working hands-on with equipment. The ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively is crucial.
