Job Description, Detailed

This is a temporary summer internship position lasting approximately 10-12 weeks within the Engineering Department. The role is designed for students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, with previous experience in an Engineering environment or relevant work experience being preferred but not required. Interns will be considered for full-time positions based on their performance throughout the internship.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed drawings of new or original designs, collaborating with design originators.
• Create and complete accurate layouts, detailed drawings, piping diagrams, and tool fixtures.
• Work independently on the development of original designs and create detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Analyze various design project requirements and present design options.
• Create part numbers, item descriptions, bills of materials, standards, and specifications.
• Actively contribute to the manufacturing organization through assigned projects.
• Meet with upper management to reflect on personal and professional development.
• Perform all other duties as assigned, with the ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Skills and Abilities:
• Entry-level mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent software is preferred.
• Basic math skills with the ability to understand dimensions and measurements.
• Able to interpret information accurately.

Demonstrated Competencies:
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both speaking clearly and effectively, and writing legibly and effectively.
• Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.

Physical Requirements:
• Work is conducted in an office setting.
