Delivery Specialist – O’Reilly Auto Parts

The Delivery Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe delivery of automotive parts and products to professional customers. This position involves operating company vehicles, managing deliveries, handling financial transactions, and maintaining vehicle integrity. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions:

  • Safe Vehicle Operation: Operate company vehicles responsibly to deliver parts and products to customers.
  • Delivery Management: Utilize hand-held devices for processing deliveries, capturing customer signatures, updating mileage, and conducting daily vehicle inspections.
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Security: Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and undergo daily inspections. Secure all company assets including vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies.
  • Customer Returns: Pick up various customer returns (e.g., new, warranty, cores) and accurately complete driver return slips.
  • Communication: Report any customer issues or special needs to store management promptly. Immediately report vehicle maintenance requirements, accidents, or damage to the store manager.
  • End-of-Day Procedures: Ensure the fuel tank is full, and the vehicle is locked and secured at the close of business.
  • Adherence to Policy: Clock in/out according to company policy.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other assigned tasks, which may include customer service, sweeping, general stocking and straightening, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, and checking in/putting up stock orders.
  • Flexible Support: Occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, or help with merchandising tasks when business needs dictate (e.g., answering phones, sales, service).

Required Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, & Abilities:

  • Alphanumeric Matching: Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
  • Driving Record: Driving record must meet the company’s 14/18-point record system standard.
  • Licensure: Must possess a legally required state driver’s license and meet company-mandated driving eligibility requirements.

Desired Skills:

  • Automotive Parts Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive parts.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate other light store equipment.
  • Multilingual Fluency: Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish being highly desired.
