Deal Analyst | New Majority Capital

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at New Majority Capital, primarily remote with expected travel. New Majority Capital (NMC) is a growing organization focused on supporting entrepreneurs, particularly underrepresented ones, in acquiring and scaling small businesses. The Deal Analyst is a central figure in NMC’s entrepreneur support ecosystem, serving as the primary point of contact for entrepreneurs seeking deal support and ensuring efficient deal progression.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Entrepreneur Intake & Support: Serve as the timely first point of contact for all inbound support requests, triage deal complexity and fit, and provide guidance on deal assessment, structure, and closing coordination.
• Deal Analysis & Modeling: Validate historical financials, build and review financial models for projections and valuations, and provide feedback on qualitative due diligence and LOIs.
• Pipeline Development: Manage a robust pipeline of entrepreneurs across various channels and cultivate relationships with banking partners, equity investors, and CDFIs to generate deal flow.
• Knowledge Management: Collaborate with the Community Manager to identify recurring support needs, then develop and maintain a repository of common deal support resources, templates, and solutions.
• Community Engagement: Support the bETA program through guest speaking or workshops and engage in regular networking to build relationships within the acquisition ecosystem.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline. Experience analyzing small business financials in a private equity group, investment bank, SBA lender, search fund, or similar acquisition-oriented organization.
• Experience: 5+ years analyzing small businesses (ideally less than $2M EBITDA) financials. Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, accounting fundamentals, and deal structuring. Track record of supporting or closing small business acquisition transactions.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling capabilities including EBITDA normalization, DSCR analysis, valuation, and returns modeling. Proficiency in reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with entrepreneurs at varying stages. Systems thinking for building reusable tools and processes, coupled with a high-volume mindset for pipeline management.
• Bonus: Experience with SBA lending, CDFI financing, or other small business acquisition capital structures.
