Manager – DC Operations | American Eagle Outfitters Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at American Eagle Outfitters Inc., located in Hazle Township, PA. American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is a leading global specialty retailer with a portfolio of beloved apparel brands that empower customers to celebrate their unique style. This role is crucial for ensuring merchandise is processed, fulfilled, and shipped efficiently, safely, and accurately for the Evening Shift, directly impacting customer satisfaction and business success. The Operations Manager plays a key part in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement within a high-volume, omni-channel distribution environment.

• Team: Reports to the Deputy Director, leads a team of up to 7 Supervisors and over 200 Hourly Associates.
• Mission: Provides strategic and daily hands-on leadership for all supervisor and associate activity on the Evening Shift, ensuring merchandise is processed, fulfilled, and shipped with efficiency, safety, accuracy, and quality.
• Tech Stack: Google Workspace, AI-enabled tools, WMS/WCS systems, general computer applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead a large team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence by modeling American Eagle Outfitters’ core values of passion, innovation, teamwork, people, and integrity.
• Develop and empower supervisors and associates through consistent coaching, comprehensive training, performance evaluations, and strategic succession planning to build strong bench strength.
• Manage comprehensive operational execution for the assigned shift, optimizing omni-channel product flow, forecasting labor needs, establishing and monitoring KPIs, and controlling operational costs within budget.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational gaps, championing process optimization, and implementing sustainable solutions that enhance overall efficiency and quality across the site.
• Exercise significant authority over product flow decisions, personnel actions including hiring and corrective action, budget expenditures, and safety protocols to ensure the best interests of the company and a secure working environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. This is a Manager-level role requiring core domain knowledge in distribution, manufacturing, retail operations, or high-volume processing environments.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a relevant operational setting; omni-channel or e-commerce experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) is a plus.
• Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and planning skills are essential, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high sense of urgency. Proficiency in Google Workspace, AI-enabled tools, and general computer applications is required.
• Bonus: A Master’s degree is preferred, as is being bilingual in English/Spanish. Candidates should be strategic, innovative, objective, people-focused, and highly collaborative leaders with a passion for developing others, demonstrating flexibility to support multiple shifts or departments as needed.
