What You’ll Actually Do
• Database Implementation: Implement and maintain complex databases, supporting architecture design, prototyping, and data solution delivery.
• Environmental Engineering: Assist with the planning and engineering of the organization’s database environment.
• Performance & Security Monitoring: Monitor database performance, scalability, and security across environments.
• Design Evaluation & Support: Evaluate existing database designs for necessary updates and integration requirements, and support the development, testing, and debugging of data solutions.
• Oracle Administration: Assist with installation, maintenance, and administration of Oracle databases.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This entry-level role is for an early career professional seeking to build a robust database administration career within a structured, technical environment, leveraging core domain knowledge in database design, implementation, and data solution delivery.
• Experience: Candidates must possess prior experience in configuring, integrating, and securing various database offerings, with Oracle DBMS experience being a mandatory requirement for this position. Additionally, experience supporting Linux systems in a capacity related to system design, development, or administration is essential.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to design and develop complex SQL queries and reports is required, alongside practical experience with Database Schema as Code tools. Familiarity with database partitioning and microservices concepts is necessary, as is knowledge of Agile methodologies or the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working with a complex build system.
• Bonus: Valuable qualifications include experience analyzing and tuning queries for performance optimization; familiarity with Liquibase source control tools; experience with code reviews on SQL change sets and enforcing SQL best practices; exposure to cloud-native database solutions such as AWS RDS and DynamoDB; experience with security scanning tools and vulnerability remediation workflows; experience with ETL and data warehousing methods; and familiarity with replication technologies like AWS DMS or Oracle GoldenGate.
