Job Title: Database Administrator (Contract to Hire)

We are currently partnering with one of our local companies in Oahu, actively seeking a motivated individual eager to grow into a Database Administrator (DBA) role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in database management within a supportive environment.

Role Summary

The Database Administrator (DBA) is a critical role responsible for the comprehensive management, monitoring, and optimization of databases hosted on both Azure SQL and Oracle platforms. This position emphasizes ensuring database performance, reliability, security, and efficient day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in supporting production databases, demonstrate strong troubleshooting capabilities, and exhibit the ability to collaborate effectively with various technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the availability and integrity of database systems.
• Perform routine database tasks such as backups, restores, patching, and updates.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify potential issues.
• Assist with query analysis and performance tuning to improve efficiency.
• Help maintain database security by following best practices and internal policies.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for database procedures and standards.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other team members.
• Stay current with new database technologies and industry best practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Abilities

• At least 1 year of experience working in databases.
• Experience with database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using database monitoring and management tools.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to go on site a couple days a week in Honolulu, HI.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Honolulu, HI.

Workplace Type: This is a hybrid position, requiring on-site presence a couple of days a week.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $30.00/hr.
