Internship Description

This is a Data Science internship opportunity for students who are at least sophomores in an accredited college or university program. The internship aims to provide students with real-world experience in the Aerospace and Energy Industry. Interns will have the chance to work on challenging projects, network with professionals, and learn from experienced individuals. The internship also presents the possibility of full-time employment after graduation.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with various Woodward sites to implement automated and digital solutions.
• Catalog production and non-production assets into Woodward’s new asset management database.
• Verify and describe production equipment capabilities in a digital format for use as metadata in the asset database.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to enhance the Digital Factory Architecture by spending time on the factory floor.
• Utilize asset data to make informed automation engineering decisions to improve factory floor operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Proficiency in using PCs, MS Office Programs, and other associated software.
• Teamwork skills.
• Time management skills.
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
• Good academic performance in relevant subjects.
• High motivation, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.

Experience

• No prior experience is required.
• Previous internships or work experience are a plus.

ITAR/EAR Compliance

• This position requires access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
• Applicants must be U.S. persons (citizens, permanent residents, political asylees, or refugees) or possess the necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
