Data Science Intern Job Description
Campana & Schott Inc. is seeking a Data Science Intern to join their team in New York. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, combining a start-up atmosphere with the stability of a 30-year-old successful European business.
Key Responsibilities (“Day in the Life”):
• Prototype Development: Design and build Streamlit-based components such as multi-page layouts, search filters, and smart topic views.
• GenAI Feature Development: Create GenAI-powered functionalities (e.g., summarization, semantic search, Q&A) utilizing OpenAI APIs.
• Dashboarding Contribution: Play a role in dashboarding projects (Power BI or Streamlit), encompassing both backend data work and front-end visualization.
• Code Development: Write clean, modular Python code to support internal tools and client-facing deliverables.
• Data Support: Assist with ETL tasks and data integration, including onboarding new data sources into analytics workflows.
• Collaboration & Presentation: Work directly with internal teams and client stakeholders, presenting findings and refining features based on feedback.
• Version Control & Documentation: Utilize GitHub for version control and ensure clear documentation of all work.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Education: Progress toward or recent completion of a Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Python Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, particularly with Pandas, Numpy, and data wrangling techniques.
• UI/Dashboard Experience: Experience with Streamlit or other UI/dashboard tools (PowerBI preferred).
• Version Control: Familiarity with GitHub workflows (branches, commits, pull requests).
• Communication: Clear communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
• Data Visualization Tools: Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
• GenAI Exposure: Exposure to GenAI technologies (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain).
• Data Workflows: Understanding of ETL pipelines or scalable data workflows.
• Domain Interest: An interest in healthcare analytics or real-world data applications.
Logistics:
• Start Date: Early June 2025 (preferred).
• Duration: Full-time internship (minimum 6 months, with an option to extend).
• Location: NYC office 5 days a week.
• Time Commitment: Approximately 40 hours per week.
