They are hiring Data Science Interns for Summer 2025 to contribute to the future direction of the company. These internships provide hands-on experience working with data in a fast-paced environment. Slack data scientists use data and research to inform and influence decisions, transforming their findings into compelling narratives and collaborating with key stakeholders. Job Description:
As a Data Science Intern at Slack, you will:
• Define end-to-end product data science projects: Work with your mentor and product partner to identify and scope projects.
• Conduct actionable analysis: Create your own datasets and apply a range of data science methodologies to perform in-depth analysis.
• Collaborate on product recommendations: Work closely with your product partner to translate analysis results into actionable recommendations for product improvement.
• Present findings: Share your analysis and recommendations with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to influence decision-making.
• Seek and incorporate feedback: Actively solicit and integrate feedback from your mentor, other data scientists, and cross-functional team members throughout the internship.
Requirements:
• Graduation Date: Must be graduating December 2025 or later.
• Education: Currently pursuing an advanced degree (MS, PhD, or equivalent) in a quantitative field. Preference given to candidates in economics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or engineering.
• Technical Skills: Excellent data coding skills (Python or R, SQL). A strong statistical foundation encompassing experimentation, causal inference, segmentation, and statistical/machine learning models is essential.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present data-driven narratives effectively.
• Business Acumen: Ability to connect data analysis to real business problems and influence business decisions.
• Prior Experience: Must have prior experience (e.g., internship) applying data analysis results to practical business challenges.
