Job Description: Data Science Intern
This internship offers a 10-12 week program starting either May 12th or June 16th, 2025. Interns will be matched with projects based on their abilities and the company’s needs. Projects will have significant strategic and/or operating importance.
Responsibilities may include:
• Partnering with leadership to identify and address areas for improved efficiency.
• Critically reviewing processes and proactively recommending improvements.
• Developing tools and models to enhance tracking and efficiency.
• Learning continuous improvement methodologies (PPI, Six Sigma, etc.) and promoting improvement initiatives.
• Collaborating across the IT function to achieve business objectives related to Global Information Security, Digital Technology & Delivery, Enterprise Application Systems, Business Intelligence, Global Infrastructure, Corporate Strategy & Integrations, E-Business, Digital Transformations, and Data Science.
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate student (rising senior) pursuing an Information Technology-related degree, graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
• 0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.
• Proven track record demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.
• Ability to champion change, achieve results, and navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and high emotional intelligence.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship (current or future) for employment visa status. Thermo Fisher does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, and CPT Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience.
Compensation:
• hourly rate between $21.50 – $28.75, dependent upon location (aligned with cost-of-living guidelines).
• $5,000 relocation stipend if the student lives 50+ miles from the internship location.
