The Impact You’ll Be Contributing to Moloco (Data Science Intern, Data Science & Analytics – DSA):

As a Data Science Intern within Moloco’s global Data Science and Analytics (DSA) team, you will play a crucial role in driving performance improvement and cost efficiency across Moloco’s products. This involves a deep dive into the company’s machine learning and infrastructure systems, providing data-driven insights and scientific solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the optimization of Moloco’s ad-tech stack and business strategies.

Key responsibilities and project examples include:

• Working on and enhancing various components of the ad-tech stack, such as ranking, retrieval, auction/bidding mechanisms, and budget pacing.
• Conducting deep-dive analyses of large datasets using queries and scripts to extract valuable signals, inform R&D decisions, and optimize Moloco’s complex bidding system.
• Designing and deploying advanced optimization approaches to improve ad delivery, balancing ROI and revenue trade-offs through strategic ranking, retrieval, and bidding.
• Validating and quantifying efficiency and performance gains from hypotheses through rigorous simulation and modeling.
• Developing robust experiment design and metric frameworks to provide reliable and unbiased insights for critical product and business decision-making.
• Staying abreast of the latest research in experimentation and causal inference, identifying opportunities to apply these advanced techniques to real-world business challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability and willingness to work full-time (40 hours per week) for 12 weeks during the summer of 2026 (May – September).
• Must be able to work from Moloco’s Redwood City, CA office.
• Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in a technical or quantitative discipline during the internship.
• Candidates pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree must be graduating and obtaining their degree by June of 2027.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Skill in translating complex analysis results into clear and actionable business recommendations.
• Demonstrated capacity to work independently, owning projects end-to-end, and solving problems effectively with minimal guidance.

Compensation and Benefits (for United States Residents Only):

• Base Pay Range: $8,600—$10,400 USD (monthly, based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities).
