Data Management & Reporting Intern

Job Type: Internship (Sophomore/Junior Level)

Compensation: $30 per hour

Reporting To: Data Strategy & Reporting Manager / Product Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Management & Reporting Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting our enterprise data strategy and crucial reporting functions within a cutting-edge Investment Management SaaS platform. You will be immersed in a professional FinTech environment, contributing to vital areas such as data governance, investment analytics, and business reporting workflows, making a tangible impact on our operations and client value.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Maintenance & Management: Assist in the meticulous maintenance of datasets critical to our operations, including client portfolios, investment performance metrics, market signals, and regulatory compliance information.
• Reporting & Dashboarding Support: Support the efficient preparation and timely delivery of various periodic reports and interactive dashboards for both internal teams and our valued clients, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Data Quality Assurance: Perform fundamental data quality checks, proactively identify discrepancies, and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure timely resolution and data integrity.
• Documentation & Standardization: Contribute to the documentation of essential data definitions, data lineage, and reporting standards, fostering consistency and understanding across the organization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively participate in cross-team meetings, providing valuable input on data workflows and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ad-hoc Analytics Generation: Assist in generating insightful ad-hoc analytics requests, transforming raw data into clear, actionable outputs that support strategic decision-making.
• Compliance & Governance: Organize and meticulously archive reports in strict accordance with compliance requirements and established data governance protocols.

Qualifications

We are looking for an ambitious and driven individual who meets the following criteria:

• Academic Enrollment: Currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior in a Bachelor’s program, pursuing a degree in Data Science, Finance, Computer Science, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Technical Fundamentals: Possess a basic understanding and working knowledge of Excel, SQL, or Python for data analysis purposes.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective collaboration and clear reporting.
• Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a fast-paced, professional environment.

Preferred Skills

Candidates with the following skills will be highly regarded:

• Data Visualization & Database Exposure: Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, and foundational knowledge of database technology.
• Investment Management Knowledge: Exposure to or a keen interest in investment management concepts and principles.
• Regulatory Interest: An interest in understanding the regulatory and compliance aspects pertinent to financial data within the FinTech sector.
