Role Title: Data Analyst Intern
Team: Lyft Urban Solutions Team
Role Summary:
As a Data Analyst Intern on the Lyft Urban Solutions team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of bikeshare. This involves leveraging data to address operational needs, supporting city partners, and driving data-driven strategies that align Lyft’s operations with city transportation goals. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your analytical insights will directly influence key areas such as fleet management, operator performance, pricing, rider accessibility, and long-term investments in bikesharing infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to tackle complex and impactful challenges in urban mobility through data.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, Data Science & Analytics, Product, Finance, and others to manage and update key business logic.
• Process Development: Develop frameworks and scalable processes to streamline reporting, drive effective decision-making, and prioritize initiatives.
• Metrics & Dashboards: Define the metrics used to measure the success of strategic initiatives and monitor system health. Build comprehensive dashboards to track and visualize these metrics over time.
• Data Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure data is delivered quickly, reliably, and accurately to city partners.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and diagnose Key Performance Indicator (KPI) performance, and present findings and insights to senior leadership.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematical sciences (such as Operations Research, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Behavioral Science, Electrical Engineering), Economics (specifically Microeconomics Theory, Econometrics), Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Graduation Date: Must have a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Availability: Available for an internship during Summer 2026 in New York City.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL (required) and quantitative analysis, demonstrating the ability to deep dive into large datasets, extract meaningful insights, dissect business issues, and formulate actionable conclusions.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the capability to translate unstructured business problems into clearly defined requirements with minimal oversight. Ability to seamlessly transition between detailed data analysis and high-level business problems.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills (listening, written, and oral) with the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively, tailored to the specific audience.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, structured thinking, and practical experience in developing processes to minimize human error.

Work Location & Schedule:
This is a hybrid role based in New York City. Team members are expected to work in the office three days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Expected Compensation:
The expected base pay range for this internship in the New York City area is $45-$47/hour USD. This range is dependent on various factors, including qualifications, experience, and geographic location, and does not include potential equity offerings, bonuses, or other benefits.
