Intern- Ticket Sales & Service Intern – Fall 2026 | D.C. United
The Tone:
This is an internship at D.C. United, located in Washington, DC. D.C. United is a professional soccer club committed to continued organizational growth and pursuing another MLS Cup within Major League Soccer. The Ticket Sales & Service team seeks talented undergraduate or graduate students aspiring to enter the sports industry for this fall 2026 program. This role is designed to introduce interns to the sales world, aiming to help them launch a sales career within the industry while fulfilling an academic internship requirement. Interns will establish a foundational understanding of the sales process, gain real-life sales experience, and collaborate as part of an intern cohort on interdepartmental projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales: Actively sell all D.C. United ticket products.
• Strategy: Assist Account Executives and Ticket Sales Managers and Directors with creating unique sales campaigns.
• Outreach: Participate in sales training sessions and make sales calls to prospective buyers.
• Operations: Perform administrative duties including data entry, research, and lead generation.
• Events: Support matchday responsibilities such as sales table setup, running fan experience programs, and assisting with prospecting and offsite grassroots marketing events for both D.C. United and DC Power FC.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Active college student, either undergraduate or graduate, aspiring to enter the sports industry. It is a strict requirement to receive college course credit for the internship.
• Experience: The ability to work at least 25 hours per week in the D.C. United offices, located at Audi Field, from Tuesday to Thursday. This role also requires availability to work D.C. United home matches, with additional opportunities provided through DC Power FC home matches and D.C. United grassroots marketing events. The internship runs for the 2026 Fall Semester, approximately from September 2026 to November 2026.
• Skills: Key qualities include being coachable, hardworking, adept at multi-tasking, and maintaining a positive attitude. The intern must possess the ability to effectively interact with both staff and clients and be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Excel and PowerPoint is also required.
• Bonus: Proficiency in Spanish is considered a plus, but it is not a mandatory requirement for the position.
