What You’ll Actually Do
• Customs Entries: Prepare and meticulously file customs entries for import shipments, ensuring strict adherence to all U.S. Customs & Border Protection regulations and procedures.
• Merchandise Classification: Accurately classify diverse merchandise using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) to determine correct duties and compliance requirements.
• Documentation Management: Diligently review, verify, and maintain accurate and complete import documentation to support customs clearance and auditing processes.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely and effectively with carriers, other customs brokers, agents, and various internal and external stakeholders to facilitate timely clearance and delivery of goods.
• Issue Resolution & Communication: Proactively identify and efficiently resolve any documentation or entry-related issues, communicating clearly and promptly with customers and agents regarding entry status, potential delays, discrepancies, and clearance challenges.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level professional with a solid and demonstrable understanding of U.S. import customs procedures and comprehensive compliance requirements.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working specifically as a Customs Entry Writer, with essential practical experience utilizing CargoWise software.
• Skills: Proficient application of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, deep knowledge of U.S. Customs & Border Protection regulations, meticulous import documentation management, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
