Overview:

Intrepid Control Systems is seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of our office and manufacturing facility. This pivotal role ensures the building remains safe, organized, and professional in appearance for employees, customers, and visitors. The Custodian will also partner with the Building Maintenance Technician on routine and preventative facility tasks and provide essential support for event setup and teardown as needed.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a dynamic environment encompassing both office and manufacturing areas. Potential exposures include cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying indoor conditions. Adherence to proper safety procedures and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are mandatory at all times.

Shift:

Night shift: 4 PM to 12 AM

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive floor care, including sweeping, dust mopping, and wet mopping hard floors, as well as vacuuming carpets in offices, conference rooms, entrances, and high-traffic areas.
• Execute thorough cleaning and sanitization of restrooms, encompassing toilets, sinks, mirrors, shower stalls, floors, and efficient trash removal.
• Clean and sanitize shared surfaces such as stainless steel sinks, drinking fountains, lunchroom countertops, refrigerators, microwaves, and other common appliances.
• Dust all ledges, baseboards, door frames, windowsills, mirrors, and door glass to maintain a polished appearance.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of entrance areas and stairwells, including necessary winter maintenance activities.
• Clean epoxied floors and hallway baseboards to uphold facility standards.
• Efficiently remove trash from all offices, conference rooms, and manufacturing/shipping areas.
• Sanitize employee gym equipment regularly to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Monitor and restock custodial closets and all restroom supplies to ensure continuous availability.
• Ensure all areas are impeccably clean and prepared for the subsequent workday.
• Provide assistance with the moving of furniture and equipment as required.
• Support the setup and teardown activities for various employee and customer events.
• Collaborate closely with the Building Maintenance Technician on facility-related tasks.
• Assist with scheduled and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal facility operation.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and climb stairs throughout a full shift in a three-story building.
• Demonstrated knowledge of proper cleaning methods and safe handling procedures for various chemicals.
• Possesses strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistent, high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively without direct supervision.
• Reliable transportation and a proven record of dependable attendance are essential.
• Flexibility to adjust working hours or schedule as needed to accommodate facility requirements or special events.
• Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior professional experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities cleaning roles.
• Experience working in diverse environments, specifically both office and manufacturing settings.
• Familiarity with specialized floor care techniques, including maintenance of carpeted and epoxied surfaces.
• Previous experience supporting event setups and logistical arrangements.
• Experience collaborating or working alongside maintenance or facilities staff.

Physical Requirements:

The role frequently requires walking, standing, bending, lifting, and stair climbing. Safe operation of cleaning equipment and strict adherence to all established safety procedures are paramount.
