Credit Research Analyst | Obra Capital
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Obra Capital, located in Montpelier, VT. Obra Capital, through its Obra Institutional Credit division, focuses on conducting comprehensive research and investment in high yield corporate debt across a variety of industries for institutional and private clients. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the Senior Credit team by providing in-depth research and analysis. The Credit Research Analyst is essential for delivering informed credit ratings, recommendations, and comprehensive market monitoring to support investment decisions and client reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research across diverse sectors to support senior credit analysts’ investment recommendations.
• Financial Analysis: Perform detailed industry assessments, review financial reports, analyze earnings and news releases, and develop relative value frameworks.
• Data Management: Collect, monitor, and systematize critical information to inform the credit investment decision-making process.
• Financial Modeling: Assist in the development and execution of financial models and valuation processes.
• Communication & Reporting: Deliver concise verbal and written summaries, analyses, and presentations for credit analysts and key stakeholders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Experience: 1 year of direct or relevant internship experience in credit research, specifically with leveraged loans, at an investment bank, private equity firm, or comparable investment firm.
• Skills: Financial analysis, Financial modeling support, Written communication, Verbal communication, Organization.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
