Infrastructure Finance Credit – Vice President | Mizuho

The Tone:

This role is essential for managing and mitigating credit risk within the Infrastructure Finance group, encompassing sectors from digital infrastructure to renewable energy, by performing thorough credit analysis, ensuring appropriate approvals, and actively monitoring portfolio health.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Review and assess: Evaluate credit applications submitted by the front office and prepare executive summaries for the Credit Department management.
• Analyze credit: Conduct detailed analysis of financial structure, risk-return, collateral profiles, and identify key transaction risks.
• Model financials: Create various types of projection, recovery, and other financial models, commenting on the reasonableness of assumptions.
• Present recommendations: Prepare accurate, well-organized written summaries with recommendations and present credit approval recommendations to senior management.
• Monitor portfolio: Proactively monitor assigned borrowers and industries, assessing performance and reporting its impact on credits to Senior Management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics, or a strong quantitative background.
• Experience: Formalized credit training from an accredited financial institution with 5+ years of experience, and proficient financial modeling skills.
• Skills: In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure and structured finance markets, strong credit analysis and financial modeling ability, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: MBA or CFA is desired.
